Only the kings/leaders of an empire are the real person, while their vassals, etc. are npcs. The reason why the nps are acting like what a real player would is because they do not know they are living inside a game.
Our mc decided to quit the game. That's why his vassals, including the ml, say he left the empire on its own.

His vassals didn't hate him. They were actually overjoyed that he came back. The Grand Duke, ml, is just slightly bitter about mc's return because he abandoned them.
+ Mc, despite being a celestial, is actually weak. That's why he made(?)/ bought(?) potions to make his vassals stronger to protect the empire, thus the black wings.

im confuse @_@ of what was happening i've read it until ch 9, but im always saying why? what? given that he got isekaid , im wondering whom are npc and player, at first i thought the ml is also a player, also i thought mc will get a harem coz of other players or something, then ml and his vassal are his enemy and he perform fusion on them or something but they are waiting for him for a long time ? but they hate him ? im gonna read it next time ╥﹏╥
