i mean in harada’s work rape is rape, unlike in other BL. it’s gratuitous, and brutal but it is treated as a traumatic event. i mean yoru had to be by asaichi’s side while he tried to gain some sense of normalcy back
Treated like a traumatic event? The rapist was literally used as comedic relief outside of that scene. It’s just cheap shock factor.
he literally pisses himself at the sight of the guy who had him raped, becomes bedridden out of fear that’ll they’ll come and assault him again, etc. im p sure he become impotent for a bit as well I cant rmmber though its been a while
Yeah, and the rapist is still used as comedic relief. Like he’s some over protective, doting brother. I’m didn’t say the rape wasn’t brutal. I’m saying nobody demonizing the rapists for the lengths they went through and STILL hanging around them like one is just some dopey guy is pretty annoying.
I get wym but a lot of times rapist and the ppl they’ve raped still keep in contact or remain around each other. Again i get wym by that it’s unserious in certain panels but ime I still talk to the ppl that molested me and stuff I still have to see them etc :/
And I get what you mean but them being around each other isn’t my issue. We can’t always control who we’re around. It’s the fact they’re written to be harmless, silly comic relief characters afterwards that felt cheap.

i actually forgot he was brutally raped, and God that felt brutal as all hell and ive read so much yaoi im not usually this like horrified (rape is horrible but unfortunately you get used to it after 1000 stories)
