Ok, so for anyone waiting for a happy, satisfying end for Qiyu and Liqing can stop reading now. I read the novel with them and it’s basically bad end. Liqing eventually goes back but doesn’t marry Qiyu again. Qiyu has some “almost” crematorium moments but it’s not enough and he doesn’t deserve to lick Liqing’s feet. Also the fact that Shen Yu doesn’t show up to beat the crap out his son pissed me off for the ENTIRE novel! If you’re not going to have him in this novel for more than a half second, then just kill him off! I just CANNOT imagine he’d sit back and watch his son treat someone like he was treated by Qiyu’s father! Ahhhh! That pissed me off the entire time I read this. This novel featuring the son is a true waste of time. Don’t bother.
