Saying it like this, yes, but what I was trying to explain is that he seems different from the story she read as he is not doing things he would usually do in the novel, but yeah you wouldn't be able to live with a serial killer even though he loved you I agree

Yeah but she doesn’t see that because he still acts the same way and makes it seem like he’s letting them live to entertain him. And in her defense, that’s not out of character for him. He only lets people live if they entertain him or have a use. She’s afraid of him because he can just as easily lose interest and kill her. Yes he can prove himself time and time again but that was only really towards the end. If I was her, I’d be shitting bricks if this murderous tyrant found amusement in my fear and repeatedly tried to get a reaction out of me using extreme methods. And to have to walk on egg shells to please him? Got me all fucked up. I do like the softness we see from him but those are glimpses of before we see his crazy side that is really just a bad love interest if you could call it that.(▰˘◡˘▰)
I get it that she is affaid of him, but I think she is being too much influenced by what happened tot the novel and so for her, the emperor is bloody and a tyrant bur girrrrrl he loves you. He loves you so much rhat he went ahainst himself and let people live even though they f**ked up. P I hope she will realise that he really love her and she actually loves him, because they are the sweetest together
