Agreed while he isn’t the best ML I’d much rather prefer him crude and lustful to him beating her, or locking her up. There’s much worse ML’s. And while not in the best way he clearly cares for the FL even if it’s not as affectionate as I’d like it to be.
He deserves the hate he’s getting. But on my perspective, he takes care of the FL in the way he knows how. He’s a crude, hard, tactless man who’s horny all the time. But he’s true to his character. He never pretended to be anything but. He was shaped by his environment. He’s a boss of a syndicate. Don’t expect him to be fluffy and nice and gentlemanly like prince charming. That’s not realistic. He puts FL’s needs first before his own (outside of sex at least) and for me, that redeems him.
