I imagine it's because we associate pigtails with being young and cute which only adds to the (age appropriate) immaturity of the character. If you condume enough entertainment media, you learn to "expect the unexpected." The more innocent a character appears, the more suspicious you become.

something about her just makes me feel so suspicious and mad at her idk buts probably just her pigtails thats pissing me off but still i think shes gonna do something bad to them in later chapters
