if he were doing all the right things she wouldn't be hestitating. it's obvious why she thinks he's playing around. since he's being unprofessional at work and not respecting her boundaries why would she think he's taking this seriously? if their relationship falls apart she loses her job she's worked this hard for. that's not understandable to you?
i love how realistic her reaction is to this tbh. it's so rare that you can identify with a FL to this extent. she's in a really uncomfortable position with not just a power imbalance but a financial imbalance of epic proportions. if i were her i would hesitate as well. i hope he can get his act together to truly make her feel secure enough to date him.
