For this story, becoming an omega is the catalyst that puts the story in motion. If he never became an omega then the older brother never would have become involved with him in this way, the story falls apart, bc then they would continue being a “normal” family. I typically prefer alpha/omega bc that almost guarantees a baby, but other perspectives are interesting too!
What’s the point of reading omegaverse if both characters are regular human ( alpha x alpha) or one is beta (takes away the reproduction aspect); at this point, we can just read normal BL, IF the story is not making a social commentary on gender rules, etc., which we know they never are. Further, This is just smut.

Good story and art, but honestly i was disappointed when the Beta turned into an omega. It’s a common trope in omegaverse stories and I’m never into it. This is just what i feel;
I don’t understand why there’s this need to “level up” to omega status for a character to feel “significant” or “appealing.” I think what makes a character interesting is their character depth, and personal qualities. The beta in this story is already soo interesting to me, so i was hoping for something unique. So, for me, i’m losing interest in the story when the transformation happened bc the characters feel bland after that.
But i know there are people who enjoyed this kind of trope so it’s totally fine! The transformation might add some tension between the two characters and complicate their relationship, it could be a fun read :)
