i think he's just an author he's liked since he was at least in college, maybe even longer? As in he likes his books, therefore he likes the author.

I feel like one of the reasons he gave the story to the older author was so he'd try to squash kazami's desire to keep writing and go away (and he did wonder if it was just a fluke that the story was so good, which in chapter 2 he realizes he's actually very talented) lol But I also felt like it was just a story that was stuck in his mind and he needed to like talk it out and let it go, and it was just a very self-sabotaging thing to do :|

he def doesn't like the author in a love/sexual way, he was (is?) in love with kazami and broke it up 'cause i think he felt like kazami didn't feel the same way and so he lied about having someone else. but i feel like i'd have to re-read it 'cause i have a shit memory lol

ikuze has always liked rishu (the older author) as an inspiration of an author from ch1, when ikuze was reading a novel made by rishu and kazami asked whose novel it was, and they talked about how he liked rishu's novels and finding every possible places to go to from mentioned in the novels. and then when they graduated from college, ikuze became an editor and was given the chance to become the editor of his idol/beloved novelist which is rishu. however, he and kazami met again and ikuze was tasked to submit kazami's manuscript to the awards program or something but instead, trying to sabotage kazami, he gave his manuscript to rishu instead, which kazami knew from the first place but was finding the right time to call out ikuze about it and punish him. which also explains why rishu had that video of ikuze being punished because you can see that kazami was taking a video of ikuze while he was punishing him, and kazami sent it to rishu. ikuze didn't like rishu in any romantic way, but rather as an inspiration and also being a bookworm himself, though yes it is quite weird how rishu punished ikuze with bdsm making it seem like they had a thing together, but they don't, and ikuze likes kazami that's why in the first chapter, he was upset about how kazami avoided him after his desires from kazami slipped out. (⊙…⊙ )

because kazami informed rishu about his work that he submitted to ikuze, being plagiarized by him. although what rishu did wasn't a direct plagiarism, it was when ikuze told rishu about a prompt idea which was originally from the manuscript that kazami submitted to him, and rishu published a work using that prompt so kazami knew that he got plagiarized by rishu. so when kazami and ikuze met up for a 'meeting' or something, that's when he called out ikuze for plagiarizing his manuscript and not submitting it on the award program for newcomers which they had originally agreed to, and he punished ikuze for it using BDSM. and while doing that punishment to him, he was taking a video of ikuze being punished, and sent it to rishu while also being informed that he had accidentally plagiarized his unreleased manuscript, making rishu furious about it.

though idk if ikuze and rishu will ever have sex because i haven't seen the raws, but i don't think they'll ever will because rishu only did those BDSM things to ikuze for trying to sabotage kazami and giving him a prompt idea that was from another person's original manuscript, making it look like rishu plagiarized kazami's work.
