Based on what the himbo said, everyone but bada were the "originals" and didn't know how bada became a character. Theyre able to become npc's if none of their cassette tapes are played.

Wait, so is Doha an NPC or not? Also, since they mentioned being trapped I'm wondering if this is a regular video game or something more sinister. Could this be a Roy situation where they're dealing with super advanced tech, so when they finish the game only a few minutes will have passed? Or is it a Jumanji situation where they were brought into the game against their will?
