He's just too used seeing Kim Dan as his possession for his Jinx instead of a person, guess the guy is in denial. He cares about Kim Dan but refuse to acknowledge his 'unnecessary feeling' because he's the champ, don't want distractions from trivial things. After all he's so used paying for his jinx.
His backstory is still unknown, perhaps there's something that made him detached. I assume it has something to do with him being abused/bullied as a kid since he had nightmares saying he's not good enough ╮(￣▽￣)╭
