(tw, long ass paragraph lol)
I love reading these types of manhwa especially when its being portrayed well. People always refute stories like this but theres a difference to internalized projection and telling a tale, its quite heavy but some of them need to separate the things they read from themselves. its like that one meme about a person saying they like pancakes but another person replies so u hate waffles, in parallel to reading content like this equals justifying it cause hell no, two things can exist at the same time, yes they are inherently scum but it’s important to distinguish what the author intended it for, a character in their world. I get how it can be seen as disgusting which it certainly is but thats part of the writing hooks for psychological thrillers like these. its a hard pill to swallow sometimes for people that when the only kind people who hav influenced you and have surrounded u since the moment u were born were beyond ludicrous, there is in no way, will u be “okay” after. I sympathize with winter’s upbringing but for the people out there r@ping is still extremely bad. and props to raymond for reaching that far in life even after what he went thro, if it was me i wouldn’t even feel a shred of emotion anymore.
Mainly the reason as to why it was hated because of so much potential that it could have been a really good green flag story. And of course it took a dark turn, I think having to hate a story that looked pretty promising at the start then it escalated to this is a pretty valid reason. Especially as the people reading didn't expect what was coming either
Most people thought that Winter was gonna be that big clingy and will treat Raymon right top, as though, it was already unhealthy from the way Winter "saved" Raymon, considering how in chapter 1, some of Raymon's interests were portrayed as kind of funny and it took alot of people caught off guard, which I kind of understand as to why. That's why this is mainly hated because they could have went for another direction of the story but choose to do this.
No hate to the author though. I've already seen the raws before this was posted on MangaGo so the reactions was already expected.
Y'all hating on this just because it has really dark themes. And they're not even romanticized you just can't handle seeing deep trauma. Everyone loves psychological shi until it's uncomfortable to read, winter and Raymond's trauma are so well represented, it makes sense that Winter thought it was right to rape Raymond because that's how he lived. He was taught that violence means love.
Of COURSE that doesn't mean he's right but it's just so good... This chapter really had me. I was so sad while reading.
