seeing straight abo is genuinely my pet peeve because there’s already a universe in which women get pregnant and get treated terribly by awful men who already don’t control themselves ? it never works because if authors wanted to make heats, ruts, knots, or pregnancy a big part of the story: the easiest solution to that is making male leads half animal or entity. think half wolf, tiger, snake, and more other creature characteristics you get the picture
the idea of a human man having the same patriarchal advantages on lean infused crack cocaine AND getting even more of a free pass to rape, baby trap, or mate women sounds horrifying to me . it only works with pure short smuts, never long stories
