no I totally agree!! Ive actually rlly been liking how the author is going so hard into showing victors backstory and even his relationship with jin. ik a lot of ppl aren't liking it rn but I feel like its giving us more context to some of the feelings and emotions that victor is carrying around with him and he's going about his relationship with yohan! not a lot of authors try to be this thorough with their back stories and for most stories that's fine bc it doesn't rlly have a ton of impact on the main focus of the story, but I feel like its been really good for this story bc of how much the past and their back stories impact the characters w this one.
Not to try to write a whole essay on this, but I feel like the whole point of this story and the message the author is trying to convey is how two broken people (victor and yohan) are able to come together, fall in love, and learn how to process their trauma together and heal and grow, and ultimately be happy! I think a lot of ppl are forgetting this fact that this is kinda the whole overarching concept of the story when they are complaining abt not liking the main couple when the whole message of the story is surrounding their progress as ppl and as a couple. I still rlly like the side couple ofc but the story wasn't made to be focused on them, it kinda defeats the purpose of the message of the story (not saying that van and Ian aren't also two broken ppl who come together to fall in love and heal each other), it was always supposed to be the relationship arc of victor and yohan and how they are able to heal and grow as people from their past traumas. but yeah that's just my two cents there's still a long way to go in the story and the author could totally land the rest of the story and it'll prob end up in my list of some of my all time favs, but the author could also shit themselves and ruin it ╮(￣▽￣)╭ we just need to wait and find out
