A lot of people hate the male lead but honestly I think it's super realistic and reasonable for it's time. He's a literal Duke that has been brought up for his entire life of royalty and being absolutely perfect. When he sees Leila he sees her as his way of escape of his responsibilities or a new light. I definitely think his actions are such a red flag, but I love the dynamic between them. Obviously if it was in real life I would tell Leila to run, but since it's a story I believe he's definitely going to have a redemption. This author wrote mystic and it was a really good green flag story so I definitely see potential for a come back from the ml.
