No shit. Obviously you're allowed to hate any character and share your opinions, but disliking a character specifically because they don't match your preferred romance trope means you might be letting that preference stop you from appreciating the actual story being told. Hating him just because he's not some instant-devotion romance cliché is missing the entire point of what this story is trying to do.
