From my understanding, his mom was super submissive to the family but after he got kicked out and headed the airport the mom threatened the dad with divorce and sent MC a voicemail to wait at jfk airport in nyc. MC went to Miami and his mom couldn’t reach him after that. So I believe the mom has been waiting for him to reach out since she couldn’t find him.
