Bruhh all this energy to get this mad in a cute manhwa? In 2025? Seriously. Your life must be so sad and uneventful that a manhwa having a wrong genre grind your gears so bad, do you? Lol. And also, if you have read your fair share of manhwa up to this point, you should realize that you can't trust the cover, genre and the comments either. Aww poor you. Get a life.
If you think something is so venomous, shouldn’t you be keeping your hands off it instead of jumping into a pointless debate? How pathetic must your life be to waste time arguing over a manhwa that’s going to keep releasing regardless of my opinion?
And what exactly have you achieved to be so proud of merely existing in this era? Does living in 2024 instead of 1880 somehow make you extraordinary? Commoners have always been screwed, no matter the timeline.
Technological advancements? Meaningless. Any day, a nuclear war or civil unrest could wipe your country off the map. Look at "peaceful" Europe—once called the world's garden, now biting its nails over an impending full-scale war. Ukraine is already done for. Syria, once a cradle of civilization, is reduced to rubble. More than half the world is either starving or caught in war zones, and young boys—regardless of age—are being forced into battlefields.
Meanwhile, a lunatic in the U.S. is staking claims over Greenland, setting the stage for another global disaster. American oil companies are going to bleed Antartica dry..
I really hope that I don't have to explain why Greenland is important for humanity..
And, governments everywhere are draining commoners through relentless taxation—just like feudal lords of the past.
So tell me, what exactly are you so proud of? Whether it’s 2025 or some distant future, nothing changes. Human greed has no bottom.
Obviously I love kids ... But not this ... You obviously don't know how to keep a family.. what children needs ..
Do you think being a single parent that too a young bachelor and devoting all your life to children will make them happy???
Life isn't that straight forward..
The example is south korea itself
Idk man... I think it would be worse if you didn't have that much devotion during your child's childhood, especially if you are capable of providing that much for them. There is a reason why neglect is a form of abuse.
Obv the parents need to sacrifice some things but if you are not prepared for that you better not adopt anyone.
Also this form of "blind devotion" you speak of is quite common in a lot of simple, wholesome stories no? ESPECIALLY romance stories...
The second male/female lead could spend their lives pining over mc just to get rejected, and still stay around as "friends" because of their devotion and love. In (reverse) harems, a ton of romancable characters just fall in love with mc just for existing.
Even male lead/female lead are not escapable from this "blind devotion" you speak of. They are always equipped with rose tinted eyes, and were literally made to fall in love with mc. Even if they fight, even if they have zero chemistry, they still stay together and never break up. Why? Because if they do, they story doesn't exist. If that is not blind devotion then what is?
And in many stories of other genres, there are often supporting side characters and extras all praising and sacrificing themselves for the mc's wellbeing. NOT just in childcare stories. In fact, every story has this sort of blind devotion character, if it is a wholesome, fun sort of story.
And fundamentally, I don't think it is a bad thing. An author who is just making by with creating manhwa doesn't have time to give every supporting character an in depth background, a love story and a character growth arc. Of course it's good to have, but to keep the readers coming, the story needs to continue. The romance arc for romance stories, fighting arc for fighting stories. And for child related stories, most readers are looking for how a genius child grows with the help of supporting side characters.
Also I think you are grossly overgeneralizing this genre. I've seen childcare stories with parents/guardians having romance. I've seen these parents have personal character growth, some BECAUSE of the child mc. I think your generalisation is quite unfair to these authors, who have spend their time crafting deep personal stories even for their side characters.
In fact, I personally think that childcare stories are normally a subgroup of romance/action stories. Everything you can find in childcare stories, you can also find in romance stories. The only major difference is that the mc is a child. So I really don't get your gripe with the childcare genre specifically. In the end, every story revolves around the mc, no matter whether they are a man, woman, dog or child. The parents, who are mere side characters, obv have less of a chance to get their own love story. It is simply the nature of story writing.
Overall, I think your critique about blind devotion is somewhat fair and I DO UNDERSTAND where you are coming from, but to say that it ONLY applies to ALL childcare stories and generalising them is extremely unfair. I hope you understand where I am coming from (if you've even read this far). Peace and love!
You’re far more patient than i am lol but yes all of this! I also am baffled by op’s problem with childcare rofan is that the Young Attractive Side Characters don’t get to have their own romances and that being a single parent equals misery? Why does it matter that he’s young and attractive? Like, mid 20s is not an absurdly young age at which to have a kid and he’s a guild leader, not a college student or something where the social and financial burden would be unfair.
You love kids but you say f*ck the MC, who in this manhwa is a 4yo orphan. You think she doesn’t deserve to have a parent just bc that parent is young and hot and single.
Explain to me why the dad’s potential romantic happiness outweighs the abandoned child’s happiness. It’s not like anyone forced him to adopt her. She didn’t even ask for it.
You say you don’t want the parents to sideline their own growth, romance, and ambitions. Well he’s a guild leader so idk how much more you want his ambitions to climb, and raising a child calls for some pretty significant personal growth.
As for romance, we’re not even 20 chapters in and most childcare rofans involve the single parent getting married/falling in love so what exactly is the problem??? You clearly just don’t want to read a story that focuses on the child’s experiences. Which is your personal preference, not a failing of the genre.
You typed all that just to jump into an entirely different tangent of topics to be mad at. Just admit that your life is so sad and you can’t contain that anger in your body cause how are you mad at everything? Lol Poor you! So pathetically angry and sad boohoo. Go to a psychiatrist cause maybe you’re just having a manic episode ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
The childcare manhwa genre is really frustrating because it sidelines attractive, young adult characters—who should have their own lives, romances, and ambitions—just to revolve around a child MC. These characters, often below 30, are forced into parental roles, sacrificing their potential love lives and personal growth. Worse, their wealth and legacy often end up with the so-called MC, making their entire existence feel like a plot device for the MC's journey.
The genre treats them as mindless devotees rather than individuals with their own stories, reducing them to mere enablers.
If villainization for MC's sake is bad, this forced devotion is no better.
If MC has the right over her life, then they as well do have the same right .
An Sclass master becoming a child's devotee...
Haishhh!!! So annoying..
Fxxk the MC who cares
