I think Leewon twiddling Caesar's conscience is the best way to punish him.
Caesar is a man of power, Leewon can't win against him in a trial
Leave the country? he will be dead. His father and the group is not capable nor willing enough to protect him to that extent.
Let's say Leewon miraculously win and Caesar goes to jail, with the way he was raised, his prison time is basically just a vacation.
Death penalty? the mf is a suicidal from the very beginning. He doesn't care.
Torture? That's like Tuesday to him
The list could go on and on, but currently, he doesn't have any morals so almost anything is useless.
So again, the best thing to do is to introduce guilty conscience to him.
this is why explanation for behaviour is important in court, it's not about making excuses, it's about understanding the circumstances of the crime and determining the appropriate punishment.
Love is the only way (fucking cringe i slapped my face after I typed that)
It was always hinted that Caesar is a teachable character and Leewon is not a defenseless crybaby.
Leewon being a stubborn mf and a lawyer is the main reason why he can keep up with Caesar's bullshits. He will always find a reason to stay and will not let go of him because he find him exhilarating, just like the cases that he takes.
Leewon is not manipulated to do things, Caesar's bullshits are aphrodisiac to him like literally.
I think the story is about two people designed to be with eo, in a plot were they are not supposed to be together.

Mm i think this is a good perspective to take and understand too. It lowkey did justice to his lawyer background,,, though its also because there's no other way it can be portrayed realistically except this.
But not to forget the amount of work they needed and absolutely horrendous methods displayed were the main frustration source, it serves as a fictional purpose afterall at the end of it.
From my pov now after reading yours, theres still the plausible act of manipulation involved and leewon might've seen this and like u said, if caesar's bullshits are like aphrodisiac to him, then he's that willing to ignore yet buy the words spouted by the guy in front of him. In a way, it may seem like hes not manipulated aka hes girlbitchbossing this hunk of a troublemaker but then its just upto his resolve to willingly fall into his wide open jaw.
Caesar's actions are still akin to a well thought out and calculative manipulations to me though. And tbf, manipulation is in our everyday lives, its just, some are blurry, some can be distinctively detected.
Overall, a good discussion. Being a level headed person on this website is a rare trait nowadays, thank you for sharing!

Try to differentiate the main story and the side stories.
Main story was about them loving each other and figuring out why. Leewon singing 'My life would suck without you' is the conclusion that I got. He even taught Caesar of the concept of compromise. (there's a scene where Leewon asked Tsar to give him weeks to finish his works and then after that they can fuck like rabbits)
So the foundation of their love and relationship is already there, if it's just the two of them.
That's the whole vibe of the main story, It's just the two of them.
Now with the side stories, the external factors (the father, mafia world, homophobia, etc.) came crashing down, making Caesar triggered and Leewon tensed with all the stress.
The world is suddenly on to them, judging and meddling in their affairs.
The things that the readers claimed as "manipulation" was actually Caesar's statements. The way he slit his neck is not a 'dont you dare leave me' but a 'Oh, you're leaving me? okay noted' kind of fatal wound.
This two doesn't need to manipulate each other anymore, that's off the table after the main story ended.
Now is about facing the external factors with their relationship intact.
You might ask why is this separated from the main story, it's simple, the external factors are not relevant in the couple's relationship. Leewon doesn't give a shit about his father.
They were already on the right path to fix their problems when the main story ends. The chaos in the side stories are just short cuts for the couple's development and of course, for the flare.

I get this perspective, thank you for explaining. But ive long decided that the story isnt really for me, far before the side stories started, specifically during caesar's outbursts and shot leewon. I guess you can say im not willing to turn a blind eye to this, therefore, we can agree to disagree in terms of liking the story. Not to say that im not willing to understand, its more like im not willing to compromise my sake of peace and by right, i have my own tolerable standards and this did not fit.

that's fair. I for one approached genres like this logically and with emotional detachment.
I like deconstructing the plot and settings because that's where the hints for plot twists usually sets in.
I got too excited and misapprehended that this discussion is a preference free space, cause in that case then same, i don't like getting raped and Caesar's bullshits too.
Feel free to choose which to reply to;
1. Threats are conscious manipulation techniques.
2. The more you explain why this and that, are you careful enough to not justify the means and the outcomes?
3. Caesar is not a well written complex character. He's mid at best.
4. Given that he's a lawyer, Leewon is rather unrealistic. Don't use the obvious argument that its fictional. Come up with something constructive.
5. Redeeming qualities of both our MCs (feel free)
6. Not so redeeming qualities^^
7. Overall opinion on the story and its progress. (Alrd had my prev comment on this not far behind)
