They both run away from these 2 assholes (kyle isn't a great guy either). But the place they stayed caught in war. Then uncle ben died in war. :(
I think leila have no choice but to be with Matthias in the end because she got a baby (she got raped by Matthias). It's more like Stockholm syndrome actually. Leila was pregnant, malnourished, shocked from the death of uncle ben and she was in war. Ofc, Matthias be like he was the purest guy alive when he is not.
