I’m sorry that happened to you but you need to stop trauma dumping your situation onto situations that are different from yours. This is just a story. Yes, realistically, these things aren’t possible BUT THIS IS A STORY ABOUT A DAUGHTER AND A FATHER. Not all single parent living situations are and can be the same as yours.
Also, having both parents don’t always equal happy living situations. I have two parents but I grew up pretty much the same as being fatherless. He was absent all throughout my childhood. I’ve had friends living in one parent households that were happier than I ever grew up.
I myself have divorced parents and my mom had a partner after that was honestly abusive so don't give me that 2 parents equal happiness bs. Also trauma projecting onto this genre just makes you look really stupid and cringe. Also I have a friend who's perfectly happy in a 1 parent household so stop tryna make it some "social issue"

And let’s be real—some of these fathers are way more interesting than the so-called "perfect MLs" who just exist to be handsome and rich. But no, the genre thrives on turning them into selfless, suffering saints who don’t even get a sliver of happiness for themselves. Just watching their kid be happy is supposed to be enough?
