What's the meaning of tape over hie tians face

he just covered it up so he wouldn't see his face

I’m assuming it’s just showing us little mo’s habit of acting like he “hates” he tian and pushes him away (putting tape on his face to show he doesn’t care about him/trying to forget about him) but also showing us that he holds onto these pieces of he tian because they mean a lot to him.
