I wouldn't she was protected from the truth, she was molded in what noble women should be in people like her father's eyes: the only value is their beauty and their ability to shut up and not ask questions about anything. And Heiner did the same as her father did, telling her to just be still, be pretty and not ask questions, even tho he criticized her for being like that, he never once tried to talk to her. He was upset that she didn't understand him, but then didn't want her to understand him. He truely is a piece of shit
I just read all of this in one go and while I can empathize with ml for what he went through, he is still a piece of trash for what he did to her. What her father did was not her fault, she was raised in ignorance of the reality of the world, protected from any truth of what war is and how survivor can interpret her word simply because she never saw what it was, she is innocent and naive and he manipulated her from the moment he actually talked to her for the first time just because she wasn't what he wanted her to be.
He is unredeemable to me and it hope he finally let her go and she can live happily far away from him
