    The fear was sooo random, like "Oh no this person survived something awful. So scary." Couldn't be me.
    But some people are put off by scars because they find it hard to look at. It's sad really. I think stuff like this really happens.

    In Japan, people don't tend to look kindly on scars for some reason... I think it stems from stigma from Yakuza culture or something...?

    Yeah. Even a slight scratch-type scar in the face can have people become dimwits and immediately think you must be involved in shady business. (As if normal people would not ever fall, get hit by something, etc..)

    It's really one of the dumbest things japanese society has made a norm I gotta say. And they cling to that to this very day. Nonsensical, if you ask me.
    I get the typical yakuza tattoos being a no-no, but regular tattoos or scars from something that can happen to ANYONE is not something to shun people for. I find it quite scummy and stupid to do that.

    It's not like his face is disfigured, so all his other partners just liked him for his looks I suppose. Which I say to: Good riddance.
