I’m reading “Death Delayed for a Short Time Because of the Will” at the same time as this one and that webtoon does such an incredible job of talking about the trauma that the MC went through in the dungeon, and i feel so spoiled and dejected bc I come over to this manga with practically the same plot and the mc has like no trauma from the most horrific stuff happening idk i shouldn't read them at the same time i guess

so curious if anyone read the novel, does it flesh that aspect out more?

If you read it properly, the MC clearly has trauma from what he has experienced. It's just that in the past no one really cared abt him as a person but only the strongest hunter so he did explain that there's nothing to really feel bad abt as he was always alone. Also as the strongest hunter, he kept fighting and fighting for everyone but barely anyone truly cared about him bcs they only cared about themselves in terms of safety and his power, smth like "since you're the strongest, you're supposed to protect us". So he kinda accepted his death but now if you've seen affect effects of traumas, he's very dependent on himself, never trusts anyone and can't really bond with people as himself. Hence the ml is perfect for him bcs he always refuses others but ml is very pushy bcs he cares abt mc :3.

Maybe it has something to do on what their doing after the dungeon. The mc here lived quietly and had a peaceful life while on the other hand, mc from death delayed is forced to do things before he can die, and everytime he do those things the memories prob brings back to him.

In the novel you do begin to really see the affects that the dungeon had on him after things get serious, i’m not sure if the webtoon will show it but right now the tone is light and funny like the calm before the storm

Agreeing with the above. In the novel, there’s moments like MC almost having a panic attack (or maybe he is or smth) at the thought of having to go back to the dungeon he escaped in Ch 1, or him acknowledging how he’s always running away because of what he experienced
MC does his best, desperately so sometimes, to live a peaceful life outside of the spotlight, and I think it’ll become more apparent why as we go through the novel events and learn more about his backstory. This story is definitely one of those ones that starts out pretty lighthearted and comedic before getting into any of the depressing stuff. MC most definitely has problems from what he experienced, though I’m not sure how well the webtoon will do in depicting it

Ever since I started, this has felt like something was off & that you sort of needed to have read the novel to fully understand the nuances. This kind of proves my thought process there wasn't wrong.
