Honestly I kinda respect her determination to make her son be the king. Do I hate her? Yes. Are her methods wrong? Absolutely. But you gotta admit her scheming works. If only her son is even half as intelligent as her.
See? Her scheming is thwarted so easily by MC because her son is so obviously incompetent, especially when compared to the prodigal ML. If she puts even a quarter of that scheming energy actually making sure that her son can properly rule as a king, she would've been lauded as the wise empress.
Sadly, she's going to lose big time to MC because she coddled her son too much to the point where he turned stupid and useless.
