I got the impression that Sasaki is much older than Ikeda rather than opposite, like Sasaki purposely got close to him because Ikeda was young & naive. There is something suspicious about the way Rio changed the topic too, like he either doesn't want Ikeda to know more about his older brother or his older bro brings up bad memories & Rio doesn't want to talk about him anymore. There could be a possibility that Rio became a host because his older bro fucked up something.

Lol we were both way off about the younger sister, the neighbor visits so often she left her own slippers (￣∇￣") . I expected the orphan & monetary problem backstory for Rio but the other part is so dark.
I guess Rio becomes the mom friend because he likes the feeling of being wanted & getting relied on so he's less lonely.
In a way Rio becomes the older brother that he never had, to everyone around him. If this get a sequel, I hope they move in together cause it mean Rio is finally willing to be more vunerable around Ikeda & that they can be a family together now
