    It's understandable how the mother reacted, if we only account her point of view. However, since we all know Adrian's backstory, it's hard to not sympathize with him much more

    Her reaction was normal. Since this is set in a historical time and people back then we're very religious it was obvious she would freak out if she saw her son get burned by holy water that was given to her by a priest

    This definitely gives more depth as to how her psych eroded overtime, at her core she’s warm and loving, yet anything that holy water would burn puts her in a state of conflict. She wanted so desperately for her perpetually sick child to get better, then her husband was neutral…he neither consoled her or tried to empathize with her or their child. She was right her child’s possibly never existed depending on when Satan was cursed, while at the same time Lucifer/Satan was one of the most beautiful and musically talented angels before he fell…and I think some part of her wanted to continue loving the person she had gotten to know regardless.
