Yeah but it is "generally" the case with many exceptions. And that is in case when they are the "master" in their plan and have upper hand. Not to mention she also angered him purposely. His options were to let her go and get a sentence or to kill her and get a sentence (maybe even flee) . So he did not had much to loose. Plain stupidity for her just for a record. But anyway she had plot armor and a "white horse prince" ( ̄へ ̄)
Why was she shocked she almost fell? She literally went to the spot of the accident, where the guy who caused all the accidents was and provoked him.
