The country may be governed by the King, but it doesn't mean he is the owner of it nor can he play with lives of the people in his country. The nobles hold so much power, and FL family has both prestige and wealth, going against them will make other nobles turn against the royal household and the throne can always be overturned.
I just wander why like the Royal family is scared or threatened with the FL family? I mean yes there part of a high rank family but isn't the Royal family is alot higher than them?
