I never liked ML, not even when he was young. He always seemed like a calculating person to me, “If I try to commit suicide, maybe I’ll get something, if I talk like this, he’ll give in, etc., etc., etc.” In the end, he stabbed MC just because he wasn’t chosen at the time, and now, even as an adult, he’s still acting out.
Of course, there’s a reason behind the physical and psychological abuse, “I did it to save your life, your stepmother is the bad guy...” I just hope that MC, at the end of the story, if he doesn’t die, gets treatment, feels good about himself. After everything he’s been through, I think he should be alone. There’s nothing wrong with that.
I hope the author maintains a realistic ending that’s consistent with the direction the story took. I still have faith in that!
