It doesn't it makes sense to halve parts of animal and human, not 2 set of ears
Imagine that they are for show and only give the ability to hear better to their actual ears.
But it makes sense that a half breed would have defects and she isn’t even a half breed she might be even more diluted.

Well, for show it kinda make sense, but still, I don't see in any work adding another set of beast hands/feet.
I get that the ears are in a different location, still it's annoying!
Even if the author just hide the place for human ears with hair I'm olay with it, keep us wondering (⊙…⊙ )
At this point I just think of them as extra appendages that serve no purpose/function other then to showcase halfbreed traits.
The 2 sets of ears just remind me that a centaur has 2 ribcages haha

Well this case their ears manifest so I'm just confused why not the existing ears grow hair and become lager instead??

Actually, you have a strong point there!
You do have a bit of a point rhere. But i think it would look weird because of the position of the human ears. Animal heads are shaped differently, proportion and all, so their ears always stand very high on the head and usually above the eyes. Also the elongation and fur would sort of work on the FL because she is a fox as it can be sort of stylised due to the size of them. The ML is a panther so his animal ears are significantly smaller and it would look weird to have the small ears replace his human ones so low on his head.
At the end of the day the pretty art is a big selling point of a lot of manhwas so making the character look unappealing during their manifestation in a josei comic is more likely to bring down sales.
Although the author could have done double change, have the human ears disappear into the head and be moved with fur for smoother transition between the hairline and the neck skin and at the same time get the animal ears on top. I've seen characters with animal traits drawn like that and I thought it looked very pretty and made sence anatomically
Honestly I’d wish they’d at least do Schrodinger’s ears. Cover the human ears with hair and have the animal ears, win-win
