Korean academies are basically like alternate cram schools or learning institutes that specialize in helping with specific fields, like math, English, science, etc. They're different from actual school, so that's why Jumi's going to both right now!
Academy is an optional thing (think extra tutoring), but it's really popular in Korea since the CSAT is REALLY important over there, so they need all the help they can get.
So when Hee Bum said he only came to academy for Yoo Won, it's because he doesn't really have to go to academy. He's smart enough that he doesn't really think he needs it, so he just went to see Yoo Won more lol
