Same. I thought up until now, that there was multiple cassette player per map.. it's why Doha and Bada along with yeongtaek, myunshin and seongchan was able to become players as well.
If there's only one player per map, then everyone else is an npc and only one person is the actual player..
If so, then seongchan's theory about npc becoming a player as well by helping out the real player is something to think about too.
Yeah I was confused with the 1 player per map too. But then you can count the players they used so far. They had the main house with 2 players. Badas and the black one that Doha started using. The black one held Seongchans tape. It must be from a finished Map that Bada forgot about and Seongchan brought. Then blue hair guy used the car player. Which didn't work properly. He only had whack memories. Then orange hair guy had the mountain shelter recorder which was also finished. Now we have the cliffhanger tape of who-knows-who.
It reminds me of games where you can expand your party. You finish a map and then you're able to add another person permanently to the group. Once you remove them from the party they stop gaining exp.
But I am wondering if Bada is the real person tho. He has yet to reveal anything from beyond the game. Does he even have memories? And if, are they real? Maybe all of them are players, or maybe none. Why would the player in the game be in danger of getting paused? It makes no sense.
Ik that explains everything but somethings not clicking for me.. how are multiple characters saving their progress if their tapes have to be in the player and theres only one player per map?
