not saying rape should be normalize by any means but like look at the cover and the name, I think you should have been expecting to see some sort of non consensual sexual activity. And also the warnings the uploader put as the title of some chapters. So I wouldn’t say it was being shoved down our throats, there was a fair share of warnings. And these kinds of story typically are just for the shock factor rather than having an actual story and coherent plot.

Im a counselor, so I will put in my teo cents on this-
From my understanding of bl logic, if the bottom refuses and is raped, then technically he is still considered 'pure'. If a bottom is hungry for the D, then he's a slut.
Same applied to those that write those self insert 'I was kidnapped by a pop star' stories. If it is against their will, they can still say they are 'virtuous', but if they are a groupie down for fun, then they are whores.
Basically, this is the result of cultures that insist women aren't allowed to see themselves as sexual beings (such as Japan, or countries with heavy, traditional Chrisitan foundations) - and yet in these cultures, the men still sexualize them.
And so you get strange psychology where women feel more comfortable reading stories where the mc is forced to have sex until, oops, they fell in love, because subconsciously they feel guilty reading and enjoy works where the character is fully comfortable with being sexual.
That's why so many bottoms in bl were are drawn to look like more feminine or are noticeably smaller than the seme - they were written for women too embarrassed to read romance with a women getting plowed. And then those women grow up and feel more comfortable in their bodies, and they graduate to reading bl with bottoms that look more masculine because seeing two men is still subconsciously something they are more comfortable with, but now they want them to look more masculine because that's closer to what they as adult women find more appealing.
So...basically authors use rape as a plot device because a significant chunk of their target audience will be protective/connect more easily with a mc that is forced to have sex until they enjoy it, even though in real life they would never tolerate it.
What do authors gain from shoving this rape trope down oir throats ? No seriously what are they trying to achieve ?
