Yeah, I think the author either never was in a relationship like this or was in one and thought it was ok? Because ta some point, when a relationship breaks that much, there's no way to "fix" it, so it just makes no sense to me that they end up together, I'd rather just see her on her path to better herself then end up with a man like this...
