omg same!!! I too have been wanting to read this for quiet sometime but unable to 'cause of the artstyle. Not saying the artstyle is bad...its just that the strange vibes I get from the art style is keeping me from reading this ...

I also wasn’t a big fan of the art style at first, but then it grows on you and I actually ended up loving it. The story is great I think it has really good world building and has a lot of depths to it. I don’t think I’ve ever read anything like it. It’s really unique in my opinion. Honestly, I hope you give it a shot because it’s really not your typical BL and I think the storyline is really hard to come by.

DO IT. A post like yours convinced me to read it about ten days ago I devoured the story !

Okay so take this with a grain of salt because I'm like the number 1 sangyang fan (tied with Me for president maybe).

The artstyle also didn't get me right off of the bat but it grew on me a lot. Its gothic and stuff, which you might not like but imo that just adds to the story + vibe. It reminds me of shounen/seinen manga a bit in terms of vibes.

You guys mentioned it gives off strange vibes, which is definitely intentional sometimes (cuz it is a mystery manhwa) but it can also have cute and lighthearted moments which are elevated by the art. And the art is seriously good and detailed. I've linked some panels below which I really like.

IMO it is absolute peak. Literally the greatest manhwa I've ever read not just bl. My only complaint is that I wish it uploaded more.
Its a mystery manhwa, so it focuses on the plot first and romance second (despite it still being there). All of the plot and especially the twists are well done and have a lotttt of foreshadowing, so it's fun to go back and catch all of the hints whenever I reread it. Even now there's still tons of mystery left so u still don't get bored.

A major part of the manhwa is the relationships and politics between all of the characters, and it especially focuses on the somewhat tense relationship between the two mc's. They're childhood friends but they've been through a lot of shit which causes them to grow distant and develop animosity for one another, even if it's obvious they still love each other a lot. This relationship is realllly well done, and despite both of the mc's making not the best choices at times u can still find urself rooting for them and hoping they have a happy ending.

I can't recommend this manhwa enough, I literally dream of this shit at night. Legit last night i had a nightmare that it didn't end the way I wanted it to. Its that serious for me LMAO.

Anyways please power through it for the first 5 chapters at least. In the first few chapters you can feel very overwhelmed and confused because not enough info has been given yet, but by chapter 5 u should start being able to understand the whole main lore of the story. I was veryy confused until I got to that chapter on my first read. But just so it makes sense to you early on, here's the lore/premise:

- the mc serves as a guardian for the heir of a rich family (the ml)
- guardians are there to basically help out their heir and listen to whatever they tell them, while the heir protects them with their wealth
- the rich family is the head family, but the family also has a ton of other branches, called collateral lines
- the heir of each line also has a guardian
- guardians and heirs have been a tradition since the beginning of the family
- guardians & heirs are not chosen, it is something that is forced upon them, they are usually born into it, thus starting the tense relationship between the main couple
