I think the family died by the hands of the neighbor territories they're trying to take over solath for a while
And he probably wants to destroy the place to stop the ringing instincts telling him to find the mate if he destroys the territory either the mate dies and it stops or it might finally point to a different place
Anyways, my bet is that, Eyra is his mate
But I read spoiler someone said his family died by other dragon , not yanu , so other dragon want eyra as their mate too but his father decline

Mr dragon just can't recognize him yet coz Eyra is a mage. Eyra is born in north but go to south immediately do mr. Dragon was left alone, Eyra became a powerful mage that's why he can't sense him that much, and maybe it's also because of the system. That's also why Eyra is somehow obsessed with monsters carcass, it's coz he's destined and mated with mr. Dragon since he was born
