Okay, that background context explains Yanu's low rapport. He simply does not have rapport with Eyra because he believes his mate is still somewhere out there. Maybe he's purposely keeping a low rapport because he does not want to actually fall for this play lover of his, in case one day he meets his mate. This explains why I kept feeling like their relationship was "business" and getting nowhere.
Basically Yanu is keeping Eyra around for entertainment and sex he's a red dragon with red flags. Eyra already likes Yanu alot already though, poor guy, just being used as the side piece. I'm hoping Eyra figures it out that he is the mate before Yanu does and have his payback moment before the truth comes out.
