I was thinking why it was Lune in the end then when I tried to recap it, it all made sense. I think it's because Lune better understands life as a performer and as a part of a circus compared to Michel (Coco's brother).
I think Michel (the artist) just wanted to get back to the circus but because Michel (Coco's brother) "broke up" with him, it gave Michel a chance to pursue the relationship with Lune - who better understands him and i think eventually supports him now that he's gonna take on the role as ringmaster.
