It could be that the system prevented her from seeing him, or at least perceiving him as himself, similarly to how some dating sims don't give you the option for the secret/true route until you've completed all the other endings (at least from the little I know) - if we presume him to be the game's true ML.
Wait so he was there throughout all of her lives but she can't remember him or even recall him existing? And the game stopped him from acting until she completed all the routes? YIKES also is blonde hair guy the creator? And it looks like the game is trying to stop her from "winning" also I recall the mage being the worst love interest so I cannot imagine the fear she's feeling my poor girl everytime she feels happy they sneak in.
