They do but their situation is hard. Each family despise each other. Both of them think they despise each other because of the family they were born into. They have responsibilities as Princes of their kingdoms.
They're toxic to each other because they can't communicate their feelings out of obligations to their families. Until the war is resolved, they probably won't communicate.
