Im curious do yall look at the ratings of a story before reading it? Cuz for me idc about ...

I look at the comments, if there's a lot of people who dislike it for the same reason I don't read it, and the same for if there's a lot of people who like it I do read it

I tend to use the comments to gauge whether or not I’ll like something, but generally I’ve seen that if something has a rating of 8.0-8.3 it’s usually not that good. I’ve seen a few exceptions with it before though; some people judge too quickly. Other than that, if it has a 9.0 or higher rating, it tends to be a hit or miss for me. One of the worst manhwa’s I’ve read had a 9.2 rating, and some of the comments gave good reviews about it. But the comments nowadays tend to call out a lot of the bad points of a story, so I always read them before starting something. The rating is more of a secondary gauge for me, sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn’t.

Tbh ratings are kind of useless when you're reading something with low votes so I don't bother. I only ever look at album photos when I'm about to read a story.

I don't judge the story much using ratings anymore because people rate low when the story hasn't even uploaded 20ish chapters.. but I do try to sort my lists by ratings for easy picking lol. Anyways I've read some stories rated high and I would drop them because some scenarios just didn't agree with me (especially harem with a lot of annoying female characters that aren't even helpful to the story progress) or the story just couldn't connect with me and I always find myself distracted. There are decent reads rated 9.0 - 9.4.. All in all I say try reading the first few chapters then you can decide if it's yay or nay

Yes I do this as well. I usually check for TW in comments as well so I know what I'm getting into but when they mention rape and sa I usually stay away when I'm not in the mood to psychologically fuck up myself these days I have to learn to turn my brains off when those shit comes up but some stories are just plain disgusting in my teenage days rape and sa didn't bother me much in stories but now that I'm older it's just arghhhh

for me I don't like certain cliches like love triangle or cliche alpha omega so i check for those mainly

I look at the number of votes. If its around 100-150, probably an average story, nothing interesting. If its 200 there should be something interesting, if there are at least 100+ chaps, but still has this rating, then its probably mediocre or became uninteresting.

I also do that as well I check for TW, and I'm the same as you I was able to read r-pe and sa no problem when I was younger, but now that I'm older I just can't stand it and refuse to read anything with that

I do, cuz most of the time, i tend to didn't enjoy those story that get lower ratings. I guess it's probably bcs i have mainstream taste, so the ratings quite helped me.
But it doesn't valid if the story is new/just released, bcs there's always ppl that give the story low ratings for no reason.

No ? The colorful stories easily have 9.5 but are boring and generic to death, the questionable ones are identifiable just by the cover. It's better to look at the comments or let yourself be tempted if you like the cover
