the current chapters take place in the "present" (future) when jian yi and he tian have returned after years of unexplained absence. the latest ch is sad bc mo guan shan was so angry/missed he tian so much that he put everything that reminded him of he tian into a tightly sealed box so as to forget about him. but he didn't throw them out bc he likely couldn't bring himself to bc he still loves him. the middle school years take up the bulk of the comic but they are technically a flashback. hope this helps.
