I know that girl told mc to come back to ml since ml was so depressed he almost ended it. But in reality the reason the car fell into the lake because when ml remembered the car accident it triggered him and he couldn't move his arm that was injured in that accident, the same arm he protected the mc with.
he even had physical therapy after the lake accident so he can use his arm again since it freezed multiple times. even in the beginning of the work when mc asked if ml arm was okay, when ml saved him from a car speeding at him, ml said something like "it isn't the first time it got injured"
