Respectfully, why are you reading this manga if you don't care about the result? The purpose of these extended matches is to logically and thoughtfully highlight the growth of key players in the NEL. Not every character is going to receive equal development—that’s intentional. Some players are naturally more inclined toward explosive growth, while others are not. That’s the nature of competition. Isagi, Rin, and Kaiser are like the LeBrons of Blue Lock--players operating at a level far above the rest (I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT SKILL, I'M TALKING ABOUT THE MINDSET AND METHODOLOGY NECESSARY FOR GROWTH). The rest of the cast, while still exceptional, are closer to them than an average player would be in real life. This disparity is realistic and reflects why percentiles exist in any competitive field. It is just not realistic for Kaneshiro to show vast development in all of the cast because they simply just cannot undergo it at the rate the top percent can (Isagi and Rin). In other words, there is a reason why you're you and Einstein is Einstein.

If Kaneshiro did the wrong thing and rushed these matches, the football would actually look goofy aah hell and the power-ups that the players have would actually look like hocus-pocus. I don't understand how the beauty of these key players' thought process doesn't intrigue or engage you in the slightest. Go back and read NEL from start to finish, and you'll most likely find that the pacing is just fine. BM x PXG is purposefully long because it's the pinnacle of the NEL. The best players are fighting each other, so you will naturally see a lot more high level defensive and offensive plays bouncing off each other. Thus, logically, more time is dedicated to describe the mechanism of each play by investing in key characters' pov. It would make absolutely zero sense from a plot perspective to end the PXG match the way it is now when they're literally fighting for their lives, as every second on the timer counts. The tension in this game is so high that 3 seconds could be the difference between a win or a loss. Kaneshiro knows this; he's not stupid. Because those 3 seconds are so valuable, it's absolutely NECESSARY to go in-depth. Showing everything that went into producing a super goal has way more payoff than not doing so.

Idk why everyone is acting like we should all be happy with the majority of characters getting offscreened or that this match isn’t dragged out bc it IS. I stopped caring about the result bc it got dragged out entirely too long and is now boring. Usually with longer manga, authors work in different elements to keep the story interesting but that is not happening in this match. Sorry to jump in, but i think it's because blue lock it's a "realism magic" kind of type. There's many other sport manga that lean more into a "realism" type such as slam dunk and etc and i think it's not because of "ppl in these replies pretending to have ball knowledge" it's more like... They know blue lock leans towards the type of anime like tsubasa, which is, "realism-magic" so they just discussed it basic on that sole point. Hence why, if you want to draw a straight line between blue lock and a real soccer of course the real ppl who watched soccer in real life wouldn't "relate" too much into blue lock, and that this manga is "too much" for them.

It's not because some ppl are not "allowed" to protested. Yes they can. But you can see a clear difference between the fandom culture in JP itself and like in the western. Some of western ppl only jump in the bandwagon of hate speech, it's not even a construtive critism, just pure hate for riding the wave, like some of them didn't even into the blue lock fandom. So i think it's kinda explainable if the ppl from the bluelock fandom kinda got the ick everytime the saw the same comments over and over again, it's not even a decent one just repeatable sentences over and over again, meanwhile in JP, it's more simple, if you don't like it again, don't watch or read it again.
