I wonder too. Yeonwoo was even afraid of awakening. And why would it bring chaos just because some hunters awakened?? Also why is it bad to not awaken, like those proto-hunters? To the point of forcing Yeonwoo to awaken in less than 3 months after he spent 10 years in a dungeon?? I don't understand anything after ch15.
Yeah. I think if it was explained better it had a lot of potential for good conflict but it literally made zero sense to me.
Like… hunters getting stronger seems like a win for this world since the gates were already hardly manageable and like over 80% of hunters were KIA anyway…
And yeah, what the hell were the Protos motives for NOT awakening? Like… I need more context. It had a lot of potential.
Sad the original creator passed away. I really enjoyed most of this story.
I agree. Could have been interesting but got rushed with lots of plotholes and it's sad the creator died. But it's a shame it had sexual assault/rape in it too. Also, having sex after not showering for ten years while sometimes sleeping in corpses is a bit... and not having a long beard or hair, wow miracle dungeons haha.
While I can see the showering bit, it was a literal time lock- his body didn't age or anything while he was in there, hence why Jeongwoo looks so much older but he looks the same despite there only being a year difference between the two.
So really Jeongwoo is 35 in the body of a 35 year old meanwhile Yeonwoo lived out 10 years in the body of a 26 yo and comes out in said body since that's how old he was when he entered the time freeze
TLDR (body don't age in those dungeons due to time freeze shenanigans)
Reading their story was funny to me cuz I can't help linking their world to solo leveling, lol.
Solo leveling gave me good reference and I kinda understood the division since both have the same premise of how the hunter system started.
The protos might be thinking the awakened had it easy and there could be instances that awakened killed fellow hunters or civilians. Not all proto hunters could awaken, they might've been treated as meat-shields and were valued less than the awakened, which could be worse than how they were already treated before the system era. It was mentioned that were rebelling against the government. They were probably had been exploited than they already were 10 years prior. Their survival rate was low so they saw a lot of comrades die horribly, and possibly came out of the dungeon alone. From the people's reaction toward the protos they weren't disgusted by them only because they're terrorists, there were hints that they saw them as lesser beings. The PTSD goes hard with them too, so none of them have clear minds. There's so much not shown. It had so much potential. unfortunately we can only guess. R.I.P. Author
I’m still confused why awakened hunters were a bad thing? Was it just something lost in translation?
