Skill issue.
i'm personally fine with it but it's so annoying when readers unfamiliar with these terms misunderstand

Yeahh, that's the worst part about this. Idk why translators are afraid of sharing cultural awareness sometimes - like just have an explanation of the terms when they first come up, or like an end note for explanations.
Honestly imo one of the annoying ones is when the translators are american and decide to change the metric system used in the original comic to the freedom units, instead of just doing a footnote where the conversions are (like it's usually done when other way around) Σ( ￣□￣||) it's s big pet peeve of mine when reading officials and seeing it. It's assuming all English readers are from the US, when I'd argue a lot of us are non-native speakers from non-English speaking countries, at least on these sites. (I'm aware places like the UK/Canada have a bit funky use of the systems but I mention america bc one example that comes to my mind was when the officials erased the og Celsius used and just wrote the Fahrenheit - and I know only a handful of places in the world use the latter.)

Atleast they stopped changing the names i was reading lookism in English on webtoon and then found out the Indonesian one was so far ahead and i switched and got so confused on who’s who

I'm so happy this is finally back, but gods, I can't help but sigh/cringe a little when I see the officials translating specific terms literalöy in English again like despite murim/martial arts/historical settings not being new to me, and I know the terms they use doesn't just refer to family, it still feels wrong to see the characters calling each other big/little brother.
