The bottom lose his memories, his head got smashed so many times that’s why he’s and idiot with an anger issue but he always been an black flag idiot tho, and the reasons he staying is because this what I think, he trying to remember about the top, he keep having a sense that he did something really terrible to the top, and later in the chapters you will see him having like a bit glimpse of the old memory. But deep down in my opinion he always have a thing for the top I think and staying with him was a self punish.

Ohhh I see... So it is the head injury that causes the way he acts/thinks right now. And the top recognized him from the very moment the bottom approached him. He wants to get revenge by blackmailing and torturing the bottom.

I did tho and I read the novel too. The author is taking this "prideful" attitude of the bottom too much that the bottom action sometimes has no common sense behind it
