a little conflicted

It's amusing and interesting. However I got hung up on one part. He had that dream and is wondering if it is a physic dream or not. Does that mean he is getting together with him in fear of the death or so he could try to prevent the death. I am questioning our main character, our uke's feelings. I don't doubt it could become love, but the motivations are what have me conflicted and confused.

That's exactly what bothers me about the story. The whole supernatural predestiny angle clouds the more interesting connection this two people foster based in things like admiration, shared inspirations and ambitions, sympathetic outlooks, all of which are much more interesting than the psychic hocus-pocus. Also, the dream imagery is so freaking literal, which it never is in real dreams where an event like putting on a sock can mean you need to replace the weather seal on your car door, or something like that. So , yeah ....

Not all dreams are symbolic. Some are literally snapshots of any given point in time.

Okay, random internet person who doesn't care enough about a discussion to sign in. I've never come across literal dreams from ...(thinking back) ... anyone except you, and Freud, Jung & Co. would probably not concur. There are some studies which indicate that a lot of random flotsam from the day gets sorted during certain sleep states, and may show up in dreams, but not as picture-perfectly accurate bellwethers of the future. I'm not always willing to suspend disbelief for a story, but it doesn't offend me with its lack of subtlety in this case, so I will go for it.

... F, J & Co. would probably not concur with you. There is pretty vast field of study behind dreams and their connection with the subconscious as a means of uncovering hidden information for the purpose of psychoanalysis.

Anyway, what would be the problem if the dreams were not literal, and these two connected on the basis of admiration.
